John Alexander, Founder
John began “Platinum Eldercare” in 1989. Platinum Eldercare was the very first In-Home Care Agency in all of San Diego County serving a population of more than 3.2 million.
Now beginning its 26th year, “Platinum Eldercare” has been providing the best solution for Concierge and In-Home Care by providing services customized to the needs of the client, and their family, while at the same time relieving their family members, private and corporate fiduciaries, attorneys and bankers of these time consuming detailed duties.
John believes that our veterans deserve the very best so he established Veterans At Your Service to bring this same level of excellence to our veterans, their families as well as employers. His organization was originally designed to help the Veteran and their Family resolve the many issues that arise in providing In-Home care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), for their injured, disabled and retired Veterans, their Spouses or their Survivors wishing to remain at Home with Dignity and Respect. The organization has since opened its services to civilians who would prefer a veteran.
John has been profiled in the San Diego Daily Transcript and the Peñasquitos News and as an expert on the KOGO News Radio 600 show “Senior Security” hosted by Carl Gehring. John serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Veterans Coalition. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Veterans Employment Task Force, and serves on the Board of Directors of the “Arc” of San Diego which serves those with developmental disabilities and other handicaps. He’s an active member of the United Veterans Council of San Diego County, a member of the Navy League, San Diego Chapter, as well as an active member of the “One VA Committee” serving San Diego’s VA Healthcare System and the La Jolla VA Hospital. John is also a member of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) Men’s Auxiliary and a “SAL” (Sons of the American Legion) member of the American Legion.
John is one of the original 26 Founding Charter Members of the La Jolla Sunrise Rotary Club established in 1984, in La Jolla, CA. Starting in his late 20’s, he served as a Board Member of the United Way of San Diego. During that time he also served as a Member of the Planned Giving committee for the University of California, San Diego Campus and a Board member of the San Diego Master Chorale. He served as a Member of the San Diego Estate Planning Council in the 1980’s. He is currently a member of several other Care and Veteran organizations.
